Climate Change & Young Children

Formed following the 2024 World Forum in Vancouver, Canada, the Working Group on Climate Change and Young Children promotes the understanding that young children are both vulnerable to climate change and valuable in the ways we address it. Considering the need to build resilience, adaptation and mitigation of the impacts of climate change, this Working Group has teams, each with a different focus:

Curriculum and pedagogy – addressing the needs of young children in the face of climate change

Advocacy and policy – understanding and supporting efforts to advocate for and with young children in arenas and stakeholders that address climate change

Exemplars – programs and strategies that show promise in addressing the needs of young children in the face of climate change

Research – compiling and conducting research on young children and climate change

Resources – a curated list of resources on climate change and young children is coming soon, including opportunities for you to submit your resources for consideration.
