International Working Group on Peace Building with Young Children
The International Working Group on Peace Building with Young Children (IWGPB) is the longest-standing project of the World Forum Foundation.
It was inspired by a panel “Growing up in a Violent World: The Impact of Violence on Children,” at the 2001 World Forum on Early Care and Education in Athens, Greece and launched at with the “Working Forum Belfast – Building Bridges: Healing Communities through Early Childhood Education,” in November, 2004.
Mission
The International Working Group on Peace Building with Young Children is a global initiative of early childhood practitioners, researchers, and civil society organizations.
The mission of the project is to be a meeting place for early childhood activists with an interest in building networks of knowledge, support, and advocacy for early childhood practice and policies in regions experiencing or emerging from armed conflict.
